We are delighted to announce that a selection of artists from the Young Masters Art Prize will be shown at the London Art Fair 2013.
In addition, works by guest artist Anne Francoise Couloumy, (Chevalier by l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres), will be included in the exhibition.
The Young Masters Art Prize is a unique, not-for-profit biennial competition open to international and UK-based artists who combine skill and innovation with awareness of the Old Masters and art of the past. It aims to give global recognition to artists in the early stages of their career.
After an extremely successful prize in 2012, with exhibitions at Sphinx Fine Art in October 2012, and exhibition and prize ceremony at Gallery 27 on Cork Street in November, the 26 shortlisted artists were presented alongside three guest artists: Yinka Shonibare, MBE, Ali Assaf and Lluís Barba.
This selection is a project of the Young Masters Art Prize, curated by Daisy McMullan, (MA Curating, Chelsea College of Art and Design), curator of Young Masters 2012, and featuring artists from Young Masters 2009 and 2012, including recent winner, photographer Lottie Davies.
Artists exhibited to include winner Lottie Davies, runners-up Georgia Dodson and Wieland Payer, High Commended artists, Christopher Coppers, Beth Katleman, Charles Moxon, Claire Partington, Derrick Santini, and shortlisted artists, Karina Chechik, Naia del Castillo, Fabiano Parisi, Ethan Pollock, Christoph Steinmeyer and 2009 finalist Charlotte Bracegirdle.
